Welcome to the Fordham Boarding Cattery Website

Corona Virus Important Information

We will still only allow limited access to the cattery.

We still have to take great precaution as if we get sick then there will be no-one to look after the cats and you will be recalled from your holidays - so we all must be practical about access to the cattery to minimise the risks.

We will still only allow access to the normal Cattery entrance and to the normal cattery office while maintaining social distancing.

No-one will be allowed into the cattery pens - no exceptions so please do not ask.

Please considering what would happen if you were not able to collect your cat(s) on the agreed dates. It is highly likely that the Cattery will be full and we would not be able to hold on to your cats and so you may wish to consider who would be able to collect your cat(s) on your behalf and if they have a key to your house. If you do have to cancel your plans, do remember that most travel insurance will cover the cost of your boarding fees if due. We are happy to take your hotel and travel company details from you if you wish to provide them.

When dropping off cats, you will sign the paperwork as normal but also asked to provide details of your destination and for emergency contacts - this should ideally be someone who can collect your cat(s) if you are not able to. This is simply as a precaution in case you are unable to return or have to self-quarantine. We will take the cats from you in their baskets and transport to their pen.

On departure, You will sign the paperwork as normal and pay your bill - debit card payment is preferred. We will place the cats into their baskets and hand over to you at the cattery office.

YOU NEED TO KEEP US INFORMED IF YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR BOOKING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE - We cannot stress how important this is because your single booking effects 60+ others in the cattery... When checking in to the cattery, where ever you are travelling to, you MUST provide your destination and an emergency UK contact in case you are delayed or in the event you are quarantined - that contact MUST be able to provide emergency back up for your cat/s if this happens - it is highly unlikely we will be able to extend bookings by 2-4 weeks if you are quarantined although we will ALWAYS try to do so if we can...we have to all work together until this outbreak is under control and travel returns to normal - We are sure you still want your holidays and we still want you to have them but forward thinking and planning is ESSENTIAL to keep the cattery running smoothly...We also can not stress how important it is for you NOT TO VISIT THE CATTERY IF YOU ARE SICK (even if it is just the flu)...it is imperative that we do not fall ill because of a traveller - if we have to self-isolate then cats will have no one to care for them...please think about this...no holiday is worth your health...PLEASE STAY SAFE, STAY CALM AND LOOK AFTER EACH OTHER... :-)

About Fordham Boarding Cattery

Fordham Boarding Cattery is owned and managed by Trevor & Keren Goff who purchased the cattery in July 2008. The cattery opened in 1996 and is situated in the rural village of Fordham, perfectly located for the surrounding towns and villages of Burwell, Ely, Mildenhall, Newmarket, and Soham, and only 11 miles from the University City of Cambridge.

We are delighted to announce that Fordham Boarding Cattery was voted by the public "Best Cat Boarding Service in the East of England" under the GHP Animal Health & Wellness awards 2018.

All our chalets have full height sneeze barriers so cats can see each other but are unable to make contact. There are 2' (60cm) gaps between each pair of chalets to ensure plenty of air circulation, therefore minimising the risk of infection.

The chalets are all heated & all overlook the garden providing double, quadruple and family occupancy (only cats from the same household may share chalets) We also have purpose built removable weather screens for protection against the elements.

Our cattery is fully licensed by East Cambs District Council to the 1st October 2018 Defra regulations ECDC Licensing

Our cattery is built and managed to Feline Advisory Bureau standard and so offers a high standard of boarding for your feline companions.
